Tweed Shire Council currently operate from two sites within Murwillumbah that were affected by the 2017 flood. As a result of this, Council have commenced a process to relocate depot operations to one of two alternative flood free sites located on the outskirts of the Murwillumbah township.
Complete Urban were engaged to prepare a masterplan for a new depot facility to replace Council’s existing depot facilities. Council have identified two potential sites for the new depot and in order to establish the pros and cons of each site, a review of the existing depot accommodation, an assessment of the two sites and a needs analysis of future depot requirements was undertaken. In addition to this, Council also undertook internal stakeholder consultation via a separate briefing session and questionnaire.
