Bardo is the Wangal word for water – this park is on the site a former watercourse which now carries the bulk of the urbanised run-off of this part of Auburn. One of the modern manifestations of the site’s importance to the water cycle is the presence, underground of a large pollutant trap. The design has used the large concrete lid and truck access road to provide a children’s toy car race track.

The park is in a densely developed area and is designed to provide a place where locals can relax in the fresh air, take the children to play on the new equipment, and for the older age groups to play an informal game of football on the synthetic pitch.

At Council’s request, COMPLETE gave the pocket park a high quality finish in order to lift the profile of the area. This has resulted in top quality furniture and play gear, areas of natural stone, irrigated lawn as well as the synthetic pitch, and cutting edge solar lighting
