Griffin Sports Complex

Location: Griffin, QLD
Project type: Architecture, Civil Enginering, Project Management, Multi-Disciplinary
Budget: $10.4M (Stage 1 Construction)
Status: In Construction
Organisation: Moreton Bay Regional Council

Complete Urban have been engaged to undertake design and construction documentation for the new Griffin Sports Complex for Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The project includes 2 new full size soccer fields, 1 half size soccer field,  a new clubhouse and amenities buildings, spectator areas, playground and carparking for 140 vehicles.

The site is adjacent an existing flood prone reserve and is connected to residences to the north via a natural bank. These 2 constraints meant that careful analysis of levels was required to achieve flood immunity and also to provide equitable access for members of the public arriving from the north. In addition, the western boundary is subject to a future road widening for a major arterial connection and the project had to consider the impact of a possible future sports field extension to the east.
