COMPLETE were commissioned by City of Gold Coast to produce a detailed design and construction documentation for the first of six regional waste processing facilities throughout the Gold Coast area. The Molendinar site included a 12 bay push-pit waste collection and compaction facility and a separate waste recycling dropoff centre.

The work associated with the WTS included the following:

  • Bulk earthwork drawings
  • Civil and structural design
  • Geotechnical investigation and Environmental assessment and design
  • Road profile & alignments
  • Construction Documentation

The recycling dropoff centre enables the public to discard of recyclable wastes in a safe & responsible manner. The building comprised of a dropoff area, maintenance and retail areas and external hardstand for the storage of bulk items.

COMPLETE was required to design and document access roads and associated parking along with landscape components. The road design needed to ensure separation of public and waste vehicles in a logical arrangement that also maintained pedestrian safety. Design took into account potential future user pays infrastructure and incorporated split level design to segregate operational vehicles from the public with public vehicles accessing the undercover elevated area.
