COMPLETE were engaged to prepare designs and construction documentation for expansion of the Tweed Heads Branch Library.
Tweed Library was located in the western end of the Civic Centre building. The existing Civic Centre building is severely short of space and following Council’s purchase of the vacant SCU Building, COMPLETE prepared a design that expanded the library within the current building footprint. The design addressed issues of poor staff spaces, accessibility, community meeting spaces and outdoor areas associated with the library by providing a vibrant community centre that will meet needs for the next 10 years.
COMPLETE’s design returns the original 1960’s building to it’s former glory. The design celebrates the original modernist architecture whilst providing a modern library environment.
Construction was completed in early 2018.
