Complete Urban is proud to be delivering the engineering and architectural design for the new Surfers Paradise Coach Interchange—set to replace the existing transit centre by late 2025. This vital piece of public infrastructure is located adjacent to the Cypress Gardens Carpark and is designed to improve long-distance travel connections into the heart of Surfers Paradise. Our multidisciplinary team has worked to ensure the new interchange is seamlessly integrated into the existing urban environment, with careful consideration given to pedestrian flow, accessibility, and connectivity to the G:link light rail, local buses, and nearby accommodation.
Complete Urban’s scope has included the design of a 48-metre all-weather shelter featuring three kerbside bus bays, architectural lighting, CCTV, digital signage, and mid-century inspired architectural detailing that reflects the coastal character of the area. Key engineering elements have involved upgrades to stormwater, sewer, and water supply infrastructure, along with road and footpath improvements to enhance safety and accessibility. The project also includes the incorporation of landscaped garden beds with native species, accessible public amenities, and thoughtfully placed street furniture to improve passenger comfort.
