COMPLETE URBAN (CU) provided full principal consultancy services, including architectural, engineering, landscape and specialist consultant coordination, for the delivery of new back-of-house facilities at the Ipswich Nature Centre within the operational Queens Park precinct.
The project comprises a new resource centre incorporating staff amenities, veterinary examination and recovery facilities, food preparation areas, quarantine and animal recovery enclosures, biosecurity infrastructure and access upgrades across a highly constrained, flood-prone and environmentally and heritage sensitive site.
A highly integrated design solution was delivered that balances functional efficiency, animal wellbeing, staff safety, and public interface, while maintaining minimal visual impact within the parkland setting.
The project also incorporates sustainable design principles including passive environmental strategies, water efficiency measures, solar energy generation, durable lowmaintenance materials, and enhanced stormwater management to reduce environmental impact and provide long-term operational resilience for the City of Ipswich.
