Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation

Location: Beaudesert, QLD
Project type: Engineering
Budget: $22.4M+
Status: Completed
Organisation: Scenic Rim Regional Council

COMPLETE URBAN (CU) was engaged by Scenic Rim Regional Council to undertake concept design through to construction documentation including front end traffic modelling, flood modelling, lighting assessment and community consultation with multiple traffic and stormwater solutions tabled.

The project involved comprehensive streetscape and stormwater upgrades to enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, traffic flow and increase the town centres flood immunity. Key features include widened footpaths, wombat crossings, two roundabouts, upgraded lighting, and street furniture all designed to improve the user experience and support local economic activity.

A major technical focus was stormwater management. The previous system was prone to major flooding. The revitalisation introduced major underground drainage upgrades, bio-retention systems to improve water quality, and ensure environmental resilience.

The project won the IPWEA-QNT Road Safety Project of the Year and Project of the Year.
