COMPLETE Urban was commissioned by the Gold Coast City Council to undertake the Forward Planning and design for the construction of a new 4 hectare council depot located between the M1 Motorway and the Old Pacific Highway in Coomera.

The design considers the various needs for this depot, including:

• Opportunity to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service provision
• Resumption of existing depots and waste facilities;
• Operating pressure on other depots;
• Alignment with Gold Coast City Council’s Bold Future Vision;
• Current and future growth in the Northern corridor

The project also considered the relocation of the abandoned vehicles compound and bulk materials storage compound, along with the council Waste Transfer Station. There are potential synergies for the waste transfer station and depot for sharing of services, car parking, truck wash facilities, fuel storage and energy efficiencies.
