Mt Glorious Community Centre

Location: Mount Glorious, QLD
Project type: Architecture
Budget: $2.4M
Status: Completed
Organisation: City of Moreton Bay

COMPLETE URBAN (CU) delivered full design and documentation services for a new community hall and associated ancillary infrastructure on an existing site for the Mount Glorious community and surrounding areas. Having previously undertaken a feasibility study for the City of Moreton Bay, CU developed a strong understanding of local stakeholder requirements, Council standards and the existing site conditions and community uses.

This early involvement enabled a well informed and responsive design approach. The project scope included a new community hall incorporating kitchen facilities, amenities and storage areas, along with new car parking, a playground, and landscaped improvements to the immediate surrounds.

The site presented several constraints, including steep topography, challenging access conditions, existing buildings and poor existing infrastructure.

A considered design solution was developed to respond to these constraints while delivering a high-quality experience for end users. The building complements the established architectural language of the surrounding community, while creating a flexible, multi-purpose hub that supports universal access and anchors the precinct as a recognisable and valued community destination.
