Council recently endorsed the redevelopment of the Sawtell Swimming Pool Complex. The complex contains a 25m outdoor public pool with separate toddler pool and water slide operating from September to April each year.
Complete Urban were engaged by Coffs Harbour City Council for the design and documentation of 2 new aquatic centres at Sawtell and Woolgoolga. Both facilities are at the end of their useful life, require extensive maintenance and do not provide a high level of user amenity. Following community consultation, Council decided to build 2 new facilities comprising a 25m FINA compliant pool with terraces seating, access ramp, a learn to swim pool and a 200m2 zero depth splash pad. An amenities building and plant building is also provided.
The Sawtell facility is located on the edge of a littoral rainforest and the site planning needed to avoid existing trees as much as possible.
The new design of the complex aims to provide modern facilities for the community to enjoy for years to come.
